Do I need a website?
In the past, when your new potential customers were looking for a fast meal or nearby restaurant, their easiest option would be to pull out the Yellow Pages to search for a restaurant in their area that provided the kind of food they had an appetite for. Sometimes this supplied a name and phone number. Sometimes, an address. On more rare occasions, a picture advertisement with a limited menu.
With the Internet today, that same customer can go to a search engine or index and be presented with a list of restaurants that fit their needs, with links to their web pages. Those web pages are loaded with maps, pictures, phone numbers, menus, and even online ordering options which allows the customer to order food for pick up or delivery, all without ever having to leave the house or office.
As high speed internet access becomes more and more commonplace, restaurants are establishing a website presence to serve their customers. People find restaurant websites useful to learn more about the establishment, the menu, its location(s), hours of operations, services available etc. etc.
How do I get my own web address?
You need to pick a domain name (e.g. www.yourestaurantname.com) and see if it is available. You can do this through Network Solutions or various other sites that provide this service. Once you find one that you like and is available, we will register it for you, or you can register it yourself. Registration is included when you agree to a one year contract.
Should I pick something fancy for my domain name?
For most domain names, the simpler the better. When selecting a domain name, you want to think like the person who will be looking for your site. Often times people will just try typing in domain names that they think will get them to where they want to go.
How much will it cost?
Our standard package for a Quick Serve Website is only $150 one time and $29 per month and includes setting up your menu, hosting, maintenance and online ordering. Other options are available, contact us for a quote.
Is there a charge to use the online ordering system?
If you choose to receive orders by phone or fax or with phone notification, there is a $.50 transaction fee for each order over the first 10 orders a month, this is to cover phone charges. There is no charge for email orders. Charges can be charged back to your customer on their order.
Must I offer online food ordering?
No. With your own website you'll still gain all the other advantages of a web presence: search engine lookup, location information, complete menu, map, hours of operation, etc.
How will I receive my online food orders?
You can receive orders to your fax machine, phone, or to your computer via email. You don't need a computer at the restaurant. All orders are computer-generated, easy-to-read, and easy for your staff to fill. You can also have the orders sent to your phone, in this case a call will be made to your restaurant with the complete order and and delivery instructions if applicable.
Should my website have a lot of bells and whistles?
Websites should be created based on the target audience. Put yourself in the mind set of your audience. What are they looking for when they come to your site? You want to make that information as easy as possible to find. You don't want to distract and frustrate them with a lot of technology that just gets in the way if it's not appropriate. Think of sites that you've visited that seem fun and cute at first, but then after awhile it just becomes annoying. Simplicity is the key. Also, folks with older equipment may have a problem viewing some of the bells and whistles. Use them sparingly ONLY where they can help a visitor learn something or get somewhere. Any element that does not support your primary objective and enhance the user experience should not be on your site.
Who provides the information for the website?
Most of the information for the website is taken from your printed menus. We will create a banner image for the top ban nor of your site using any artwork you have, either email any file format or mail t to us and we will scan it in. You will approve the artwork before we use it.
Blackboard Specials can be set up for the entire week. You can specify these yourself with a very friendly interface or fax us your specials once a week and we will update them.
How do I register my site with search engines?
If you are not in a rush to have your site listed, then you don't need to do anything. Within about 6 months of your site being published, most of the major search engines will have found your site and added it to their database. If you want to make sure that you get listed in the major search engines, then you can go to their websites and submit your site to them. Some of them charge a fee if you are in a rush to get listed, otherwise it's usually free.
How much time does it take to create a Quick Serve Website?
A standard site with a`complete menu can be completed in one day, the average is site is ready for review within 3 to 5 business days. The site is immediately accessible for viewing on the internet.
Can I make changes to my Website whenever I want?
Yes. The package includes unlimited updates. You can update your site yourself
by logging in to your Control Panel, and using the easy to use interface or
fax
your changes
to us and and we will do it for you, usually the same day. Changes can be
made 24 hours a day, from anywhere in the world, and any change made
in
your
Control
Panel
will
take
effect immediately.
If I experience problems while building or viewing my site, where can I go for help?

Will I have advertising on my Website?
No. You will not have any advertising on your site.
Can my website be password protected?
Yes. You can password protect specific pages of your website, or you can create a single password for your entire website
Is the Control Panel secure?
Yes. The Control Panel has several security features built in to ensure that only someone who knows your password can make changes to your website. Of course, it is your responsibility to safeguard your account information and password. For more details, please see our Terms of Use Agreement.
How will I know when I have received a Feedback?
When a visitor to your site submits a Feedback form, you will automatically receive an email with all the information that your guest supplied in the form.
Do I need my own internet service provider or website hosting account?
No. Quick Serve Websites provides you with the space required to host your website. We do not however provide you with internet access.

If you do not have digitized images, and you wish to use conventional photographs, just send them in to us by conventional mail, and we will scan the images and upload them for you. Remember to include your unique website address so that we can identify your account. Please note, Quick Serve Websites takes no responsibility for photographs sent in the mail. Should you want to have your photos sent back to you, we will be happy to return them however you must provide us with a self addressed, stamped envelope when you send in your photos.
Can I update my photos at any time?
Yes. You can Add, Replace or Delete photos from your Slide show or anywhere throughout the website at any time using the Control Panel.

The best way to inform your guests of your new website address is to print your website address either directly on your takeout menus, or printed on a separate card which is inserted with with every take out order.

Yes. Quick Serve Websites will supply you with your very own Domain Name. Your
own personal Domain Name will look like this:

What if I have already registered a Domain Name?
You can easily use your own existing domain name with your Quick Serve Website. To forward your own Domain Name to your Quick Serve Website, notify us that you are forwarding your Domain Name. If you have any questions please contact us.
